I drove the car to the gas station, filled up with 87 and added a 1/2 can of sea foam. The car cranked up and, slightly rough at first then smoothed out.

inspected all vacuum lines, found the break booster hose cracked and used tape to seal temporally while i order a new one replaced all spark plugs- these looked really bad used compressed air to clean out the spark plug well i forgot to mention that i replaced the valve cover, not just the gasket. I?m running out of ideas past replacing other 3 injectors but hesitant to try this as the misfire seems intermittent and isn?t following the injector with the misfire code. Thanks for the information. This problem has been repeatable for last few starts (cold or hot starts). All wiring was checked for issues including the wiring up in the cowl by the ECU.

While car was running I jiggled different vacuum lines to see if there was any intermittent leak, no issue observed. Car was shutdown and later restarted, this time the idle was uneven and higher RPMs (2000-2500RPM) occasionally would have a ?puffing? noise (possibly small misfire or bad combustion) but no codes displayed. Car was run for 45 minutes in driveway with no issue. Upon restart the car ran perfectly fine at idle and high RPMs. Intake manifold was again removed, the injector from cylinder 1 was swapped with cylinder 3 to check if problem followed the injector from cylinder 3 to cylinder 1. After about 100 miles the car again started to sputter its way to a complete stop on the freeway. After replacement of cylinder 1 injector car appeared to be fixed, idle was normal and the car drove without incident. Oil, oil filter, air filter, and spark pulgs were replaced to rule out any service item issues.

Intake port for cylinder 1 had much more dried out soot which flaked off easily and the other cylinders had a much more sludgy buildup. Old injector from cylinder 1 was totally clean (similar to spark plug), other injectors had soot buildup. All intake ports were cleared of carbon buildup during replacement of injector. At this point a new injector was purchased for cylinder 1 and the intake manifold was removed cylinder 1 injector was replaced. Spark plug was again removed from cylinder 1 and connected to coil pack engine was then turned over, spark was observed on cylinder 1 plug. The cylinder 1 plug was replaced and cylinder 2 plug removed for comparison as expected almost no fuel was observed to shoot out of port. Engine was turned over without plug in cylinder and a deluge of fuel was observed to shoot out of cylinder. Spark plugs were removed cylinder 1 was soaked in fuel and showed no soot on plug end, all other cylinders showed soot on plug ends.

Codes were cleared and engine started again, this resulted in a random misfire code and cylinder 1 misfire code. HP fuel pump was replaced and misfires persisted but fuel pressure codes resolved. Upon removal of HP fuel pump it was observed that the oil immediately behind the pump had a gasoline smell. Coil Packs and spark plugs were replaced and problem persisted. Initial codes for random cylinder misfire and specific cylinders as well as a fuel pressure regulator error and low rail pressure error. I have a 2.0T TSI engine with the following issue I'm hoping to gather some ideas on:
